Abstract

Haptic memory helps people retain an impression of tactile sensations, thus allowing them to describe the physical quantities in their environment and manipulate objects in their daily activities. On page 1559, X. Chen and co-workers develop haptic-memory arrays to mimic the haptic memory of human beings. The haptic-memory arrays can detect and retain pressure information after the removal of an external pressure distribution.
